Have got a souvenir for a prizewinner of the Bears. This is an ornament to make “Texas tornado”. It’s fantastic, isn’t it?

オースチンのライブもすこぶるいい調子で終了。
写真はナイフの前に出たレジロズのメンバー。私、昔かなりレジロズ聴き込んでましたぜ。ああ、英国の香り。メンバーはとても大人でいい感じの人たちだった。

夜は友人宅に泊めてもらった。その人は〈飲茶楼／はみがき〉のジャケットを描いた人。画家の家だけにインテリアがアートしてた。

そして今日、3月ももう18日かー。今はオースチンからオクラホマシティーへ車で向かっている所。9時間ぐらいで行けるかな？

Austin’s live gig was also great. This picture is with members of Rezillos. I had listened to the music of the Rezillos so often. Ah! It’s the smell of UK. They are gentlemen and really nice guys.

We stayed at a friend of mine who lived in Austin. He is an illustrator of the jacket of our CD single CD, “Yamcha ro/ Toothpaste”. The interior of the house was very artistic!

Now it’s March 18. We are heading for Oklahoma city from Austin. It will take around nine hours.

3月15日、ツアー始まって以来初めてのオフ。
ホテル近くのショッピングモールでお買い物。なんとそこで五時間もウロウロしてた。ロックＴシャツなどをゲット。KISS、サンタナ、AC/DCなど。

夕飯はホテル一階のレストランで、ハンバーガー。超特大。この日はリフレッシュデーとなった。

翌日、つまり今日16日、夕方まで何もないと思ってたら、朝からラジオのモーニングショーがあった！昨日元気が余って少し夜更かししなきゃ良かったー。写真はラジオ局にて。

The first day-off since this tour started. Did some shopping at a shopping mall near a hotel. Hung around there for five hours! Bought some rock T-shirts or something. KISS, Santana or AC/DC…

Had king sized hamburger as dinner in a restaurant on the first floor of a hotel. Today is a refreshing day.

Next day I had thought it’s free until the evening. But actually I needed to appear on a morning radio live show program! I should have gone to bed much earlier last night. This picture was taken at the radio station.

モントリオールの後はと言うと、オタワ、トロント、ハミルトンとライブが続いた。

カナダからはケータイメールが送れないので、まとめてリポートすると、とにかくカナダでもたーくさんのお客さんがナイフを暖かく迎えてくれた、と言うこと。とくにトロントではキャパ550人売り切れ。さらに各地でナイフコール続出。

ところでトロントでは「日本文化センター」にて〈ナイフミーツ日本刀〉と言うイベントが行なわれた。ブロンドの『いあい抜き』のセンセイに従い、我々がいあい抜きをした。何だか不思議な感覚だったけど外国の人に日本文化を教えられたような…。(・・?)

そして今日はもう既に三月十四日。ツアー後半戦、南部へ旅立しているところ。昨日、ハミルトンのライブの後国境越えして、バッファローへ。
朝五時過ぎに宿に到着、仮眠して空港へ。そして一路テキサス州ダラスへ。バッファローの宿が最悪でオーバーブッキングしたりシャトルバスの予約をすっ飛ばしたり。その上一言も謝らない。大手チェーンのくせになー。そんなので何でやっていられるんだろ？

After leaving Montreal, our live gigs continued in Ottawa, Toronto and Hamilton.

I’m going to report on them all together because I cannot send e-mails from Canada by using the cell phone. Large audience welcomed us warmly here in Canada. Sold out in Toronto, which have a capacity of 550. “Knife calls” came out each venue one after another.

There in Toronto, an event called “Knife meets a Japanese sword, Katana in Japanese” at the Japan culture center. We were given lessons in the “Iai”, the art of drawing one’s sword by an instructor, who is a blond, followed her and tried. That’s interesting and a kind of strange feeling. We learned Japanese culture by a foreigner…

And today, on March 14, we’re heading for the south. After finishing the live gig in Hamilton, ONT, we crossed the border to Buffalo. Checked in a hotel around five in the morning, we took a nap there and then drove to the airport. Flew to Dallas, TX. A hotel in Buffalo socked, the worst with overbooking and skipping our reservation of the shuttle bus. What was worse, the hotel staff never made an apology ever. In spite of being involved in a big hotel chain. It’s unbelievable that they don’t care about these things.

三月十日極寒のボストンを後にモントリオールへ。

山越え国境越えをした。車に置いていたペットボトルもカチコチに凍っていた。写真は国境近くニューハンプシャーの旅行案内センター前にて。もう一枚はツアークルーの一人ニックが骨つきチキンを食べている所。

無事モントリオールに到着。ボンジュール！そう、ここはフランス語圏。TV（MUCH MUSIC）のインタビューを受けた後、今日初めての食事をタイ料理店で食べた。
そして、ライブ本番。若い男の子を中心に昔からのナイフファンや女の子のお客さんも結構多い。ライブはこの上なく盛り上がりを見せ、モッシュが起きた。アンコールの声も止む事無く、ナイフコールも巻き起こった！

Left very chilly Boston to Montreal.

Went over a mountain and cross the border. Water pet bottles got frozen in the van. The picture was taken in front of a travel information center in New Hampshire close to the border. Another was taken when one of tour crew, Nick, was having chicken.

Arrived in Montreal safely. Bonjour! Yes, French is spoken here. We took the first meal today at a Thai food restaurant after being interviewed with TV, MUCH MUSIC. There were large audience at the venue. The live gig there was so exciting than ever and was a “mosh”. We’re called back to the stage with many encores and Knife calls!

3月8日雪のち曇り。ワシントンDCからフィラデルフィアへ。

ライブ会場近くまで来たところで、我々のトレーラーが道路凍結の為滑って脱輪。足元つるつるの寒いなか、通り掛かりの人も加わってトレーラーを押してもらった。なんとか態勢を立て直し、会場入り。

ライブも無事終了。写真はステージから撮ったものっす。
ライブ中ずっと不法にビデオ撮ってる人が居て困ったー。（｀´）

Cloudy after snow. From D.C. to Philadelphia.

One of tires of our trailer got out of joint after it slipped because the road was frozen near the venue. It was so cold and slippery, and passers-by and we gave our trailer a push. Anyway got ready to drive to the venue.

Finished our gig here. This picture was taken from the stage. The trouble was that a person was recording videotape illegally.

昨日、一昨日とは一転、春の陽気の中、ワシントンDC到着。

その後一旦宿に荷物を置き、会場入り。PANCAKE MOUNTAIN、つまりホットケーキの山って言う子供向けカルト番組の録画をサウンドチェック時に行なう。
たくさんの子供や人形のようなタレントさんがステージに上がって、我々の演奏に合わせて踊った。ハチャメチャな感じが愉快。付き添い父兄にニコラス・ケイジそっくりの人がいた。｜(-_-)｜

その後会場の楽屋でご飯を出してもらって食べた。チキンバーガーとサラダ。おいしかった。

ライブはまたまた大盛り上がり。ワシントンDCは六年数か月ぶりなので、みんな待ってたよー！って言ってくれてた。

この日はシカゴからずっと一緒にツアーしたVISQUEENとは最後のライブ。ギターヴォーカルのレイチェルはえっちゃんを持ち上げてYou are awesome!と誉め讃えていた。ちなみにベースはMUFFSのロニー。

Got to Washington D.C. in the fine spring weather not like yesterday or the day before yesterday.

Checked our baggage at a hotel and got to the venue. There recorded a kids’ TV program, “Pancake Mountain”, on video while we’re doing the sound check. Many children and TV personalities were dancing to our live performance on the stage. Very funny. There was a father like Nicholas Cage attending a child. ｜(-_-)｜

The venue staff made dinner for us and had it at the back stage. Chicken burger and a salad. So tasty!

The gig there was so enthusiastic again. It was a gig in D.C. for the first time in over six years. Everyone there told us, “We have been waiting impatiently.”

The band, “VISQUEEN”, which had toured with us from Chicago, was the last day in our tour. Rachel (G. and Vo.) from the VISQUEEN gave high praise to our drummer Etchan saying “You’re awesome!” and lifted her up. The bassist was Ronnie from the MUFFS by the way.
