本日のラストは我々少年ナイフじゃー。今日のメンバーはドラムはおなじみ、えっちゃん。ベースのアツコは「用事」のため、先週と同じく「電気キャンディー」の律子さんが出てくれた。えっちゃんはいつものごとく超強力グルーヴィードラムを叩いてくれた。ベースの律子さんもナイフのステージ2回目ともなると肩の力も抜け、元気いっぱいに演奏してくれた。わたしもとても楽しく演奏できたっ！ステージの高さがあまりないので、ステージ上にビールケースを置き、その上に時々上がって演奏した。後ろのほうのお客さんにも少しは見えたかな。

Today’s headliner is we, Shonen Knife. Etusko played the drums as usual. She playes powful and groovy drums. For the bass, Atsuko couldn’t appear on an errand, Ritsuko played the bass as a support. It was the second time for her to play with us and she was getting used to. She played cheerfully. I could play with fun! We put boxes on stage and I stepped on it and played. I hope the audience in the back area could see us.

ライブもノリノリでできたし、対バンもステキだったし、フリーマーケットもできたし、ホント楽しかったデス。

I could play with fun, other bands are fun, frea market was fun. I really enjoyed this show.

2番手はYellow Machine Gun。こちらも女の子3人組み。音楽のジャンルで言うと、スラッシュメタルっちゅうか、そんな感じ。普段は普通の人たちなのに、ステージで演奏を始めると全くの別人になるところがステキ！Yellow Machine Gunは、今わたしが一番好きな日本のバンドの一つです。こんなにいさぎいいバンドってなかなかないよ。メタル好きにはたまりません。わたしもメンバーにしてくらさい。なーんて。はは。

The second band is Yellow Machine Gun. This band is also a three piece all girl’s band. They play slash metal music. They are very friendly people but once they go to stage, they change to very aggressive. I like this gap. Yellow Machine Gun is one of my favorite band in Japan now.

Hey, Yellow Machine Gun, please let me join to the band! Ha Ha!

ライブ前日は、発熱のため十分フリーマーケットコーナーの準備ができなかったので、ライブ当日4月16日は朝から大忙しだった。家中のあっちこっちからフリマに出せそうなものを物色、そして値札付け。でもフリマってお店屋さんごっこみたいで楽しいね。とにかくリサイクルできればー、っちゅう感覚でアレンジしてみました。

The day before our show at Bears in Osaka, Namba, I couldn’t prepare for my frea market coused by the fever. Then I was very busy the day of the show on April 16th. I took my unwanted items from everywhere in my house and put price tags. I like garage sale and frea market. It’s like to play at a store clark and a customer. I gathered my odd things for recycle.

4時ベアーズ入り。サウンドチェックして、みんなで近所に晩御飯食べに行く。小雨模様だったので、遠くへは行けなかった。ベアーズに戻ってフリマの準備して開場。

We arrived at Bears at 4p.m. After sound chck, we went to eat dinner. It was a little rain and we couldn’t go to eat far. Then we went back to Bears and opened our frea market.

1番目は「ニーハオ」。女の子3人組で、赤や緑のカラフルな体操服がトレードマークだ。テツ&トモをテレビであまり見かけなくなった今、あの体操服を着るのは彼女たちだけではないだろうか。なーんて。キテレツヴォーカルにシーケンサーも駆使して、小技のきいたノリのいい音楽。おもちゃの箱をひっくり返したようなかわいさデス。中からでてくるのは中国製ブリキのおもちゃってな感じかな。

The opening band is Ni-Hao. All girl’s three piece band. They wear red, green and blue, very colorful sports wear. Using Using a sequencer and with high-pitched voice, their sound is like Chinese tin toys. Very cute.

I played at Bears in Namba, Osaka yesterday and I sold my unwanted items to recycle at the venue like a garage sale. I sold my autographed tennis racket at 1000yen. At BBS, a guy who bought is asking that was it mine? And he says that it was too cheap. Anyway, it was mine. When I started to play tennis I bought it and used.

ラケット買ってくださってありがとう！

ベアーズの物販会場で売っていたテニスラケットは２つともわたしのものです。テニス始めたころに買ったもの。でも、ほとんど使ってません。そのあとテニスを一旦やらなくなって、後にまた始めたときは、別のラケットを買ったからです。でも、グリップテープも巻きたてで、いつでも使える状態です。へへ。
暖かくなってきたので、野外でテニスなどいかがでしょうか。

わたしのフリマコーナーはいつもリサイクル目的ですので、高い値段はつけないようにしとります。へへ。

We’ll play at a club called Bears in Osaka. We’ll play with Yellow Machinegun and Nei-Haw. Both are female bands. I’m looking foward to play with them.

By the way, I’m having a fever from yesterday. It’s not serious but I have to recover until tomorrow. I’ll take ginger tea.

あしたはベアーズでライブだ。イエローマシンガンとニーハオと一緒に出ます。どちらも女の子バンド。楽しみだにゃー。

ところで、わたし、昨夜から発熱中。微熱だから大した事はないけど、明日までに治さなきゃ。生姜湯飲むぞ。

By the way, I remember that when I played in Oska on new year’s eve, I had a high fever. The show was presented by FM802 and DJ Marky did count down 0:00a.m. of the new year in the middle of our show.

そう言えば、かつて大晦日カウントダウンライブを大阪でやったとき38度以上の熱を出してライブしてたな。FM802のイベントで、DJのマーキーさんがライブの途中、午前零時になったらカウントダウンするって企画だった。

I was lying down on a table at backstage until show time. Once I went to stage, I could play but when the time of count down, I had to keep standing on stage. At that time I was nealy to fall down. I felt dizzy and I put my hands on my waist and kept balance. Ah, entertainer should keep on rocking always.

出演前まで楽屋で机の上に横になってて、出番になって演奏しだしたら何とか持ちこたえたが、マーキーさんがカウントダウンしてる間は演奏せずにステージに立ってたんだけど、倒れそうになってたな。フラフラ状態。手を腰に当ててバランスとって立ってた。でも、芸人だから仕方ないね。へへ。

北米盤「GENKI SHOCK!」のリリースに伴い、アメリカのプレスからインタビューを受けマスタ。インタビューってe-mailでやったり、電話でやったりするんスけど、英語で難しい質問に答えるのはなかなか苦労しやす。何でかというと米国と日本のミュージックビジネスの違いから説明しなくちゃならなかったり、はたまた風習の違いまで一から説明しないといけない時も出てくるから。

I’ve got some interviews from U.S. press. I was interviewed through e-mail and phone ’cos I’m livin in Osaka. It’s hard for me to answer to difficult questions. Because I sometimes have to explain from very basic things like the difference between Japanese music business and that of America. And I sometimes have to explain about Japanese customs and tradition.

こうなってくると英語だけの問題じゃないよな。で、いっぱい英作文して、電子辞書を何べんも引いてるうちに時間が矢のように過ぎて行って…、その苦労の結晶をみてみてね。

I need not only English ability but knowledge. I consult my electronic dictionary thousands of times and time flies. Please see my bear fruit.
