21日、アメリカのニューヨーク州バッファローのバンド、The Juliet Daggerのレコーディングに参加した。彼らはGoo Goo Dollsのベーシスト、Robbyさんがやってるレーベル所属で、レコーディングの話もRobbyから連絡が来た。 レコーディング当日、午前11時からスタート。午後7時の終了まで、びっちりフル稼働した！内容は、2曲のヴォーカル、日本語バージョンと英語バージョン、コーラスパートそしてギターリフ一箇所。 彼らは現在女性4名のバンドで、今回日本に来たのはドラマーを除く3名とスタッフ。みんな楽しい人たちで、こちらも楽しく作業させてもらった。ヴォーカルのErinはとても歌が上手だったよ。

I joined the recording with The Juliet Dagger on June 21 in Osaka. They are from Buffalo, N.Y., U.S.A. They have a deal with Good Charamal Records which is owned by Robby, the bassist form Goo Goo Dolls.

The recording sessions started from 11a.m. and finished at 7 p.m. I did a lot of work. English and Japanese vocals for two songs and a guitar rif for one song.

They are all female four piece band. For this time, three members other than the drummer came to Japan. Everyone is fun, nice person and I could enjoy the recording sesions. Erin, the vo. & guitar, is a good singre.

ライブ盤とトリビュート盤、リリースされた。紙ジャケってのがレコードっぽくて気に入ってるぜー。

Live in Osaka and SK tribute albums were released in Japan. I like the CD jackets. They are paper jackets like mini vinyl record jackets.

世の中はサッカーワールドカップに沸いているらしいが、わたしはなんといってもローランギャロス、テニスのフレンチオープンなんだなー。ナダルとフェデラーの男子シングルス決勝、いい試合やった。わたしはナダルを応援してたんだなー。ワイルドなところがカッコイイよねー。次、ウインブルドンでどんな活躍するかな。

Everybody in Japan is excited about world cup soccer but I’m excited about Roland-Garros, French Open Tennis. Men’s singles final match, Nadal vs Federer was great. I like Nadal a lot and I wanted him to be a champion. He is wild and cool. I hope he will do a good job at Wimbledon.

こないだの日曜、京都の磔磔へライブを見に行った。大阪で何かと用があったもんで、京都に着いてダッシュして磔磔行ったらVampire!の1曲目が始まってた。

Vampire!は変拍子を駆使した曲が多いけど、ノリが良く、踊れますな。いい味してます。Vampire!とその後に出たUltra Bideは、昔からのお友達バンド。ツインベースとドラムのUltra Bideはとてもはじけてたよ！アメリカアングラっぽい匂いがして良かった。それからZingiも見ましたが、どのバンドもとてもリラックスして楽しく見せてもらいました。ああ、いいなぁ。こういう「身内系」ライブって。

I went to a club called Taku Taku in Kyoto last Sunday to see Vampire! and Ultra Bide, my friends bands.

I had my private business in Osaka and wheb I rushed to the venue, the first song of Vampire! had already started. Their rythm is very special and their music is danceable. Cool! I also saw Ultra Bide, too. They are twin bass and drums. I felt an essense of American underground music. They were cool, too! I saw Zingi between these two bands. All bands were cool and fun. I enjoyed Sunday night.
