We’ve already arrived at Charlotte yesterday. I slept well. <\/p>\n

For my lunch, I got tired of greasy food then I microwaved a pack of steamed rice which I bought at a Japanese food market MITSUWA. I put Furikake topping and Kombu seaweed on it. I also made instant Miso Soup. The wheat gluten cake became heart shape.

I went out for taking a walk after lunch. Other than downtown area, it’s difficult to find sidewalks and signals for pedestrians. You can’t go to stores on the opposite side of wide roads by walk. Even if they are on the same side, it’s dangerous if there is no sidewalk. I’m not used to such traffic, the area I can go is limited, though. On this day, I found some shops around the hotel and went to a pet shop,<\/p>\n

a craft shop and two department stores. American department stores are very different from Japanese ones. They are one or two stories and basically sell clothes. Department stores in Japan sells various products like clothes, grocery, furnitures, toys or stationaries. They are in buildings. Usually the basement is grocery and they sell tons of fresh food and various deli. <\/p>\n

We left the hotel at 6:00pm for load in. I was saying to Miyoko that I’d like to eat Japanese style bread which like HAMADAYA or HIPPO’s in Japanese supermarket. Then surprisingly Miyoko found a market which seems dealing them. After we drove through a forest on a hill, an Asian Chinese market appeared in front of our eyes. We didn’t have enough time but I could get Chinese bread which are very close to Japanese ones. Thanks Miyoko!
