On Sunday, February 18, I left home at 4:00 p.m. for Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The airport was not crowded and check-in went smoothly. The only luggage I had was my bass, a small carry-on suitcase, and my shoulder bag.. There is an excess baggage charge from the second piece and since there is a lot of air travel within Australia, I went with as little luggage as possible.<\/p>\n

Since I had a hearty lunch, I didn’t eat anything at the airport, They don’t sell water in plastic bottles at LAX. So I chose to buy water in aluminum cans because glass bottles are heavy. Right?<\/p>\n

As I headed to the boarding gate, there was a cardiac massage practice table and one of a group of young people was doing it. The Bee Gees’ Stay Alive was playing and they were pushing at the same tempo. I moved my head a little to the song and watched as the girls in the group cheered for the boy doing the massage, saying yeah yeah.<\/p>\n

I watched the in-flight movie “Barbie” in English since there were no Japanese subtitles. After dozing off, I watched all 8 episodes of the Japanese drama “Miss Sherlock”, and in the middle of the 7th episode, it was time to arrive…too bad. I’m anxious to see the end.<\/p>\n

I arrived at Auckland Airport in New Zealand. The time was 7:00 a.m. on the early morning of the 20th. I felt the 19th day gone. I was hungry waiting for my connecting flight, so I bought a salmon rice ball and ate it. It was sushi rice…for your information.<\/span><\/p>\n

I arrived a little late, around 10:30 a.m. Paul, a local promoter and record label owner who has been helping us since the 90s, picked me up.<\/p>\n

It was after 2:00 pm check-in time and I returned to the hotel. I usually stay in apartment hotels in Australia. I took a shower, washed my clothes by hand, put them in the dryer, and organized my luggage, then Naoko and Risa arrived around 6:00! It seems they didn’t receive the luggage. OMG!<\/p>\n

We all went out for dinner in the city. We toasted with Orion beer! The fried chicken bento was a hearty meal.<\/p>\n
