Thank you for your messages on BBS. I’m honord to have invitations from you guys at many different cities like N.Y., Sapporo and more. We will tour in U.S. until this autumn. There is no plan so far but I’d like to go to Sapporo not in winter. I saw Snow Festival in Sapporo on TV. It’s beautiful. I know there are many delicious food there.

東レパンパシフィック終わったね。

結果はデメンティエワの優勝だったけど、何よりすごかったのはヒンギスとシャラポワの準決勝での試合やね。ヒンギスは、美人で若くて人気のシャラポワには負けないわ、わたしが女王よーっていう気力に溢れてたなぁ。正確でスピーディーなスウィングで相手を圧倒してたなぁ。スウィングスピードが速いねんなぁ。

ところが、翌日の決勝戦ではヒンギスボロボロやった。その違いは何なのだろう。前日、あれだけ正確なストロークを決めてたのに次に日にはミスが増えたのはなぜかな。その辺がテニスの面白いところなんだなー。ちょっとした何かでぐんと変わってくるんだ。メンタルなもの、体調、環境などなど。

わたしも「なんか今日サーブの調子いいわぁ」という日もあれば、「1stサーブことごとくフォルトやー」って日もある。弱い相手に簡単に負けてしまったりすることもあれば、男性に勝つときだってある。

いやー、面白いもんです。

やっと歌詞できた！！！！！やったー。あとはメロディーや。

Toray PPO tennis tournament was over. The result was Dementieva’s won. I was impressed by the match of Hingis and Sharapova. It seemed that Hingis had a lot of guts against Sharapova. Because Sharapova is a kind of star of tennis now. Hingis was retired for three years and she came back. But her motivation developed more than before. I saw her body was build up. Her stroke and swing were perfect at the match. Her swing speed was so fast.

But the day after the match with Sharapova, she was beaten by Dementieva very easily. She made unforced errors a lot. I think this is the reason why tennis is interesting. For tennis, various facts relates the result. For example, mental things, physical matter and environment.

In my case, one day I have good services but another day I can’t serve well. I could defeat even men’s doubles but sometimes was beaten by biginners.

Anyway, tennis is fun!

I wrote a new lyrics finally!!! I should write melody now.

わたしが最近買ったCDは…。

1．Destiny’s Child #1’S
2. 40 Seasons - The Best Of SKID ROW
3. The Very Best IKE & TINA TURNER Album Ever

って具合に全部ベストものなんだけど、1．と2．はカラオケで歌うときの参考のために買った。へへへーっ。
感想は、
1．この3枚の中では聴いていて一番自分にぴったり来たかな。でも、音楽的にみると別段新しいことしてるわけでもないので、刺激的ではなかったね。付属のDVDはまだ見てないです。これからのお楽しみ。

2．ヘビメタってのを極めたくて、代表的なバンドといわれているものの中で、わたしが知らなかったバンドをぼちぼち聴いてるんだけど、あんまりヘビーじゃなかったな。わたしにとっては。やさしい感じだね。自分としてはもっとギンギンぼこぼこにへヴィーな音楽が好きなんだなぁ。やっぱりRainbowなんて、Vocalからして重いもんな。でも、カラオケの参考としてとてもいい買い物だった。

3．「むかし」な感じがよかった。ごきげんな音楽だね。でも、だいたいこんなもんかなって思ってたらその通りだった。ライブ見たら楽しそう。

I bought 1. and 2. for my Karaoke singing. I’d like to try to sing Destiny’s Child and Skid Row’s songs at Karaoke bar. It must be fun.

1. This is my favorite in these three albums. I feel fine when I listen it but there is no innovativeness and creativity.

2. I felt that Skid Row’s sound is not so heavy but gentle for me. Rainbow is more heavy. Especially the vocals. I expected more heavy sound. But It is good for my Karaoke repertorie.

3. It’s fun music. I’d like to see their show.

また寒くなってきたー！ナイフのジップアップパーカが活躍するね。へへ。

一月場所が終わったね。相撲、好きなんだけど見る時間がないんだにゃー。一月場所、あっと言う間に終わっちゃって、結果は栃東が優勝だった！朝青龍が優勝するとばかり思っていたので意外だったけど、こういう展開で大相撲が今後もっと面白くなっていくといいね。

琴欧州は人気だね。わたし、今日ヨーグルト食べました。琴欧州みたいに強くなれるかな？今場所、白鵬も強かったね。これから彼はどういう風に出世していくのかな。楽しみです。

わたしの好きな高見盛は負け越しだったにゃー。三月場所は大阪開かれるね。1回は見に行きたいな。やっぱり生で見ると違うもの。びんつけ油のバニラみたいな匂いがたまらん。わたしが見に行く日には高見盛が勝って欲しいもんだ。

ああ、テニスの全仏オープンも見に行ってみたいもんだな。

ただいま新曲制作中。

It’s getting very cold in these days. I’m sure you can be warm with Shonen Knife’s original zip up parka.

January’s Sumo tournament was over. I like Sumo a lot but I don’t have enough time to watch Sumo on TV. I feel the tournament was over very quickly and the result is Tochiazuma’s won. Everyone prospected that Asashoryu would win but this became a new turn for Sumo, I think. I hope Sumo tournament will be more fun.

A Bulgarian guy Koto-Ohshu is very popular. I’ve heard that people in Bulgaria eat a lot of yogurt and keeping good health. I ate yogurt today. I may be strong like Koto-Ohshu. Hakuho gave a good results, too. I’m looking foward to see him rising Banzuke ranking.

One of my favorite Sumo restler, Takamisakari had a losing record this time. March’s Sumo tournament will be held in Osaka and I’d like to go. I hope he will win when I go to see his match. Watching live Sumo is very different from through TV. I really like to smell of Sumo wrestler’s hair oil.

By the way, I want to go to Roland Garros French Open Tennis, too.

I’m writing a new song.

昨日の夢。カラオケに行ってRolling Stonesの曲、Satisfactionを歌おうと思って機械に送信しているのに、何度やってもJumpin’ Jack Flashが出てくるという夢。Satisfactionはカバーしたことがあるので歌えるけど、Jumpin’ Jack Flashは歌詞を知らないので夢の中であたふたしていた。

I had a dream yesterday. I went to KARAOKE and tried to sing the Rolling Stones’ song Satisfaction but the Karaoke machine played Jumpin’ Jack Flash again and again. I’ve covered Satisfaction for Shonen Knife but I’ve never sang Jumpin’ Jack Flash. Then I was confused in my dream.

行って来ました！「タイムスリップ　大阪万博展」。

入ってすぐ笑えたのが岡本太郎氏の実物大の人形。迫力あったー。その周りには氏の作品がいろいろ展示してあって、他にはコンパニオンの制服、万博グッズなどがあった。

1970年当時のコンパニオンの映像や写真を見ていると、この35年間で若い女性の美人度、スレンダー度がかなりアップしたと思った。人類は確実に進化してるぜ！

他に笑えたのは「未来の台所」。レトロフューチャーな世界なんだ。丸い、回るテーブルがあって、冷蔵庫、電子レンジ、食器洗い機などが仕込んであり、一歩も動かずに調理できるというもの。すべての機械を動かすのにいちいち鍵を差してたのには笑った。それに、一歩も動かずに調理するほうが疲れるよね。立ちっぱなしだもん。

1970年当時、人はみな「未来」というのがすばらしいことだらけだと思っていたようだ。でも、本当のところ、どうなのかな。もちろん、今もそう思いたいけどね。


I went to an exhibition called Time Slip Osaka Expo ’70. There was a real size doll of Taro Okamoto who is an avant-garde artist and producer of Expo ’70. It had a huge impact for me. Around it, his art works were there. Other than them, there were uniforms of hostesses at pavillion and Expo ’70 goods.

Looking at the photos and videos of hostesses in 1970, I felt that modern young women are much more beautiful than 70’s. I’m sure that human race is evolving.

Future Kitchen was funny, too. It’s a world of retro-future. There is a big revolving round table and inside of it there are microwave, refrigerator and dish washer machine. People can cook without move around. It’s funny that we need keys to use each machine. I think without moving and standing at the same place is more tiring.

It seems that every people in 1970 thought the future would be bright. I don’t know it’s true. Of course I hope so, though...

新年早々いろいろあって気づいたらもう10日かぁ。とっても忙しい今日この頃だけど、なんか面白いライブ見に行きたいなぁ。2月にプロテニスのトーナメントが東京であるから見に行きたいなぁ。テニスもライブ（生で見る）が面白いよね。

BBSコーナー、ライブの感想等の書き込み、とても楽しく読ませてもらってます。ありがとーございますぅぅぅ。

Time and tide wait no man. 10 days have already passed this new year. I want to go to see some fun shows like pro-tennis tournament. I know a pro-tennis tournament will be held in Tokyo in February. I really like to go!

年明け早々スパムメールが山のように来て困るよーーー。

I’d like to introduce some fun place of Osaka which is my home town. I like to go shopping around Minami area between Namba and Shinsaibashi. You can walk along Ebisbashi street and Shinsaibashi street. There are many fun advertisements around Doutonbori Bridge. Around Kitahorie, Amerika-mura and Minami Semba, there are cool shops and restaurants. You should check it out.

I also recommend that you should go around Tsutenkaku Tower. It’s a kind of funky place. You can find kitch souvenirs at the top of the Tsutenkaku Tower. There are some Kushi-katsu bars. Kushi-katsu is fried vegetables, meat or sea food with ground bread. Kushi means a stick. Yes, it’s sticked.

If you want to go to some historical places, Sumiyoshi taisha or Shitennoji Temple are good to go.

I like Takoyaki a lot. You can eat delicious Takoyaki, an octopus ball, in Osaka, too. Have fun in Osaka.

大阪のおすすめスポットということだけど、わたしは難波から心斎橋あたりをうろうろ買い物するのが好き。道頓堀橋近辺には面白い看板がたくさんあるよ。北堀江、アメリカ村、南船場などもおしゃれなお店があるのでチェックしてみてね。

あとは、ファンキーなところだけど通天閣近辺が面白い。上にあるお土産物やさんにはキッチュなものがあったりするよ。その近くのジャンジャン横丁にはカウンターだけの串カツやさんってのが何軒かあるけど行ってみてね。おいしいよ。

歴史的なところを見るなら住吉大社や四天王寺もおススメ。

わたしはたこ焼きが大好きだけど、大阪のたこ焼きはおいしいから要チェック。では大阪を楽しんでね。

行ってきました、ロッキングオン主催「カウントダウンジャパン05/06」。

12月30日、車にて朝9時45分大阪発。約1時間で奈良到着し、えっちゃんをピックアップ。東名高速、神奈川県秦野市あたりまでは順調だったのに、事故渋滞に巻き込まれ、迂回する為やむなく下の道へ。秦野から東京は普段なら40分ぐらいで行けるのに、この日はなんと2時間半以上かかると表示が出ていた！ところが、下の道も超混み混みで、結局東京に着いたのが夜の8時半。11時間近くもかかったのだー。疲れた！近所の＊実業家系居酒屋(!)でたらふく食べて睡眠。

翌31日、昼食に晦日そばを食す。まいう〜。午後2時、幕張へ出発、楽屋入り。しかしでかい場所だ。大阪のインテックスとは比べ物にならんな。さすが、大東京。ケータリングは充実してて、カレーライス、肉まん、海老の磯焼き、トルコ風サンドイッチ、サーモンクリームソースがけ、サラダなどなど。ライブ前はあまり食べるわけに行かないので、ハヤシライス半人前を食べた。

本番は、ナントあの渋谷陽一さんがオープニングMCをしてくれました。すごい。L.A.でRodney BingenheimerにMCやってもらって以来の快挙か！！7時半から8時までが演奏時間。セットリストは英語コーナーに載せたよ。当日一番小さくてかわいいステージだったけど、超満員でキャパ2000人いっぱいの人に見てもらえた。うれちー。最後の2曲はBeatcrusadersのヒダカさんとジャムった。お面をつけての登場。とても楽しかったよ。thanks!

ライブ終了後またケータリングコーナーへ行き、飲み食いして11時ごろかな、都内某所の宿舎へ。ところがそこの部屋に荷物を運び込んで、押入れを開けてみると、5組はあるはずのふとんが全然ないではないかっ！何でかは全くわからんですたい。慌てふためき、荷物をまた車に積み戻して、ホテルを予約しなおしてチェックインし、深夜やっと落ち着く。わたしの部屋でプチパーティーして就寝。

翌1月1日、大阪へ。帰りはえっちゃんを奈良まで送って大阪へ。8時間ほどで家に着いた。ほっ。

いろいろとハプニングはあったけど、無事ライブできてよかった。楽しい大晦日＆元日でした。家に帰ってからはおせちを食べたよ。まいう〜。

＊実業家系居酒屋---わたしが作った言葉どす。レストランを事業としてやってる会社が経営している居酒屋。一つの会社が、イタリアンレストランやったり居酒屋やったり、いろいろやってて、内装とかが人工的に凝ってて、働いている人もきっちりとしたマニュアルに従って行動している。

みんなー！2005年はどんな年だった？そして、2006年の抱負はなぁに？楽しいお正月過ごしてるぅ？

お正月はやっぱりゲーム！わたしはレトロ気分でファミコンやってるよ。アツコはゲームの達人なーのだ。どんなゲームでも人より早くうまくなって、すぐに面をクリアするのだー。すごいな。わたしはドンくさいっす。

2006年のスローガンは「前進あるのみ！！！」今日、氏神さんへ行って、おみくじ引いたら大吉だったよ。(^o^)/

今年の12月29日でナイフ結成25周年を迎えることだし、今年はナイフにとって何かいいことあるような気がするな！

I’m enjoying video games. I especially like to play old shooting games like Invader, Xevious and Tennis game. By the way, Atsuko is a video game master. She improves very quickly more than other people.

I went to a Japanese shrine near my house and I consult an oracle, Omikuji in Japanese. It is a small message paper. Paying 200yen and draw lots. Then by the result of the lots, we can have the message. The Omikuji I got said You are very lucky!!!. Wow!

Shonen Knife will have 25th anniversary on December 29, 2006. I have a feeling that something good will come to the band!

I’d like to report Countdown Japan festival which was presented by a Japanese music magazine Rockin’ on.

On Dec. 30th 2005, We left home at 9:45 a.m. by car. We stopped at Nara to pick Etsuko up then we drove and drove toward to Tokyo. Traffic of Tomei highway was very bad especially between Kanagawa and Tokyo. The traffic sign said that we have to take more than 4 hours to arrive Tokyo from Hadano, Kanagawa pref. Usually it takes 40 minutes. We made a detour but the road we tried go through was very crowded, too. Anyway, we arrived in Tokyo at 8:30 p.m. We spent almost 11 hours from Osaka to Tokyo. I was exhauted. Then we went dinner. I refreshed and went to bed.

I was at a hotel room until 2:00p.m. and drove to the venue, Makuhari Messe. The venue was huge and so many people were working. At the catering room, there was a lot of delicious foods. Curry and rice, Chinese bum, salmon saute, salads, turkey sandwitch, baked prawn and more. I ate a little of hushed beef. I don’t eat much before the show.

At 7:30, we started our show. Our set time was 30 min. Here is our set list.

So many people, around 2000 people gathered to our stage. I enjoyed the show a lot. On 8th and 9th songs, Toru Hidaka from Beatcrusaders joined our stage as a guitarist and we jammed. It was so fun, too.

I stayed the venue until 10 p.m. then went to a certain place where we would stay. We’ve heard that there was 5 sets of Futon there but there wasn’t. So, we couldn’t stay there. We had to carry back our equipments and heavy bags to the van and reserved hotel rooms. I was very exhauted again. After we arrived to the hotel, we had a little party at my room. There were a happning but finally I could sleep.

The next day, we went back to Osaka. It took only 8 hours including dropped Etsuko off at Nara. At night, I ate special festive food for the New Year at home.

I was happy that our show went safely and I could enjoy the festival.

2005/12/29

The day after tomorrow, we’ll play at Count Down Japan festival at Makuhari Messe, Chiba. I’ll go to Tokyo by car tomorrow. It might be long drive. I had to prepare for it. Candies, chocolate, cookies, balloon pillow, eye mask and etc...

My cell’s battery dies very quickly so I need an extra battery. Oh, I need cable which connects my PC and cell, too. Anyway, it’s the end of the year but I don’t feel like that. I have to work until the new year eve. After I come back to Osaka, I’d like to go to shrine and big shopping malls. I may buy Fukubukuro, a mystery package containing a variety of articles supposedly worth more in total than the purchase price.

これからは英語でもがんばってアップするぞぉぉぉぉーーー！文法間違ってたらごめんな。意味はわかるやろう、きっと。

明後日は千葉の幕張で「カウントダウンジャパン」出演だ。明日車で東京入りするのだ。車で東京だと長い時間かかるだろうな。ちゅうことで、いろんなもん用意してます。お菓子、空気枕、アイマスクなど。

わたしのケータイの電池すぐなくなるねん。せやから替え電池も要るな。あ、パソとケータイ繋ぐケーブルも要るわ。まぁとにかく、年末っちゅうのにそんな感じがしないな。大晦日まで稼動するわけで。大阪に帰ったら初詣行って、デカイショッピングセンターに買い物行きたいな。福袋買おかな。

では、幕張ってきまーす。もし、幕張る人がいて、わたしを会場で見かけたら、気軽に声かけてねー。

雪が降ったので、雪だるまちゃんを作りました。
大阪ではめったに雪が降らないので、雪が降ったらうれしくなって雪だるま作った。でも、この雪のせいで交通は混乱したりしてたけども。

今年もやってきました！少年ナイフpresentsスペースクリスマス2005!!!チケット買えなかった方すみません。今年のゲストはすごかったから…というわけで…。

　午後、十三のファンダンゴに入ってサウンドチェック。後、天丼を食べた。ドラムのえっちゃんと同じです。(^^)まいうー。

　なんだかんだやってたら、あっと言う間にshow time！最初の出番はスペシャルゲストBeatcrusaders!!!今回ナイフのライブに出てもらわれへんやろかと頼んだら、なんと親切にもOKしてもらったんだー。7月のナイフデーパーティーにもvocalのヒダカさんにセッションしてもらった。ビークルはポップセンスがいいね。それに演奏は完璧だもん。すばらしい。そして、女の子のお客さんがいっぱや。すごいわぁ。ええこっちゃ。

　その後わたしらの出番。曲数が多いし（本編だけで21曲）久しぶりにやる曲も多かったので、出番までは復習してた。ステージに出たら、なじみのお客さんのあたたかい笑顔が。ありがとぉ。初めて見てくれた人も、ほんとありがとぉ。お客さんのお陰でこちらも楽しくステージが出来るわけで。

　ライブは超ハイパワーメーター振り切り高速ジェットって感じで終わりました。お立ち台も作ってもらっていたので、その上に乗ったり、ヘッドバンギング、ジャンプ…。図らずも今回は特に超ハイパワーな選曲だったので、えっちゃんはさぞかし大変だったことでしょう。よくがんばった！！！（小泉首相風に）ナイフの曲のスネアって30秒叩くだけでも腕がパンパンになるんだよねぇ。

　片付けてから豊田市まで車で夜間移動。豊田市は愛知県なーのだ。そこでホテルに一泊。夜中の2時半ごろかな？着いたのは。で、シャワーを浴びて就寝。翌朝は8時に東京に向けて出発ーっ。なかなかにハードですな。

わたしの誕生日や。ライブや。

　朝8時に豊田市の宿を出て、車で東京へ。途中富士山の見えるサービスエリア、富士川やったっけ？で雪化粧をした日本一の山、富士山がクリアに見えた。その写真をみなさまにお届けします。この写真を見てたら、新年の初夢に富士山が出てくるぞ。
　
　車で走って走って昼過ぎ会場着。前日と同じような流れで進行。サウンドチェックと本番の合間に食べたものは海老カツバーガー。まいうー。揚げ物好きやなぁ。ぶーぶー。あ、くるくるカールした肌色のシッポが生えてきたー。

　ライブの様子はこれまたエキサイティングで、前日と同じようなので、割愛させてもらいますが、アンコール時、ビークルヒダカ氏にまたまた出てきてもらってDaydream Believerをjam sessionして、そのときに誕生祝いの花束＆お面をもらった。ありがとう。みなさんのお気遣いに感謝。

　ライブ終了後も、スタッフの方々、友達、ファンの方々からプレゼントを頂戴し、うれしーうれしー。おもしろくてマニアックなCDやらDVDやらRamonesのDVDやら干しマンゴー（うまい！）やらバースデーケーキやら…きゃーすてき。えっちゃんにも古都奈良の雅なミラーをもらった。ありがとう。ああ、バンドやっててよかったなぁ。

　そのあとの打ち上げでは、バースデーサプライズとしてケーキを出してもらって感動！そういえば、以前Los Angelesのスタジオでレコーディングやったとき、わたしの誕生日が来て、サプライズとして男性ストリッパー呼んでもらったこともあったっけ。

　ともかくも、こうして、みなさまのお陰をもちまして云々。楽しいライブになってよかった。ダンケ！メルシー！万歳！

2005/12/23

12月17日、18日のライブが無事すんで、さあ帰るぞという段になり、雪のため足止め。江戸にて一泊延泊。その翌日ほぼ一日かけて帰阪。途中、またまた富士川SAに止まり、マウントFujiを撮影。帰りの富士山は雪が解けていた。

　往きの富士山と比較してみてね。
