Shonen Knife's latest album "GENKI SHOCK!" was released from Glue Factory Records affiliated to Oglio Entertainment on April 11th.
Great news! It is an different version from Japanese one. It's very Shonen Knife!
No.1, All songs are written in English lyrics.
No. 2, The order of songs are different.
No. 3, The color of the album jacket is different. Now you can call the Japanese version "Yellow album" and U. S. version "Pink album".

Sad news
Mana "China" Nishiura passed away by traffic accident on November 4th, 2005 when she was touring in America as a member of a rock band "DMBQ".
Mana was a support drummer for Shonen Knife from 2001 to 2004. Not only for shows but she recorded drums for two songs, "Mosquitoes" (album "Strawberry Sound") and "Top of the world" (mini album "Orange-no Taiyo" in English "Orange Sun").
She also recorded percussions for "Mango Juice" (album "Heavy Songs") and backing vocals for "Rubber Band" (album " Heavy Songs").
It was so sudden a loss and we have no words to express our sorrow. We extend our condolence to the departed spirit.

It will be released on May 22nd !
It includes all original new songs with lyrics in Japanese. This album has a viewpoint to social phenomenon?! It’s lovely, fun, strong rock music.
Naoko wrote all songs except ‘Crossword’.
Atsuko wrote the 6th song ‘Crossword’.
