小さな町、オマルー。ビクトリア朝の建物が多いのを生かした町おこしのコンセプトは「スチームパンク」。本日のサポートバンドのマーティンは町の顔役。廃材でロボットのオブジェを作ったり絵を描いたりしているアーティストです。彼の計らいでスチームパンクの博物館「Steampunk HQ」に連れてもらいました。
Oamaru is a small town—one that has embraced “steampunk” as a concept for its revitalization, leaning into its abundance of Victorian-era architecture. Martin, who is performing as part of the supporting act today, is a prominent local figure; he is an artist who creates robot sculptures from scrap materials and produces paintings. Thanks to his kindness, I was able to visit “Steampunk HQ,” a museum dedicated to the genre.

面白い展示が目白押し。

楽しく見学させてもらったあと、お友達所有のこちらの車でマーティンのバンドのもう一人のメンバー、Gのお家へお昼ご飯を呼ばれに行きました。この車は、映画「マイケル」で、ジャクソン５のファミリーがツアーに使用していたものと同じですな。
After a fun tour, we hopped into this car—owned by a friend of Martin’s—and headed over to the home of G, another member of Martin’s band, for lunch. This is the very same type of vehicle that the Jackson 5 family used for touring, as seen in the movie *Michael*.

バンド練習もお家でするそうです。
Apparently, they also hold their band rehearsals at his place.
その後、マーティンのお店を見せてもらいました。作品を販売されています。お店の周りはスチームパンクテイストのアンティークを売っているお店が集まっていました。
Then we visited Martin’s gallery/shop. He is selling his art. There are many Steampunk taste antique shops around there.
会場はこちら、その名もペンギンクラブ。会場もマーティンのお店も全部近くにあります。コンパクトな町です。

今日はこのアンプを使わせてもらいました。
I used this amplifier today.
サウンドチェック後、近所のタイ料理店で夕食。おいしくて完食。
After soundcheck, we had dinner at a Thai restaurant in the neighbors. It was tasty and I ate all.
一旦宿へ戻る途中、ペンギンが居ました。
There was a penguin on the way back to the b&b.
その後、支度をして会場へ行きました。
We prepared for the show and went back to the venue.
マーティンとGのバンドが演奏中。

そして我々の出番。今日も大変盛り上がりました。ご来場ありがとうございました！
