Monday, November 2nd Travel Day from New Castle to Sydney
ホテルを１０時にチェックアウトし、ポールの運転でシドニーへ。Turnstyleみんなはニューカッスルから飛行機でパースへ帰ります。グレッグは機材を積んだ大型バンでシドニーまで行き、機材を返却して、我々と空港のレンタカー屋さんの前で落ち合うことにしています。
Checked out the hotel at 10am and went to Sydney from New Castle by Paul’s driving. Turnstyle flew from New Castle to Perth. Greg drove the big van to Sydney to return our rental equipment then meet at Sydney airport rent-a-car place with us.

約２時間半後、シドニー空港のレンタカー屋さん前で、３０分待った、というグレッグをピックアップしてみんなでランチに行きました。空港近くはインドネシアの人が多いらしいです。インドネシア料理店へ行きました。私とあつこさんが頼んだお料理がなかなか来なくて、大急ぎで食べなくちゃなりませんでした。最後のランチ。
About two and a half hours later, we picked up Greg—who had been waiting for 30 minutes in front of a car rental agency at Sydney Airport—and headed off to lunch together. It seems there’s a large Indonesian community near the airport, so we went to an Indonesian restaurant. The dishes that Atsuko and I ordered took quite a while to arrive, so we ended up having to eat in a huge rush. It was our final lunch.
その後、ナイフのメンバー３名は空港近くのホテルに降ろしてもらい、チェックイン。ポールとグレッグはそのままレンタカーを返して午後４時の飛行機でブリスベンへ帰ります。なので、ここでお別れです。「また会いましょう」と名残を惜しみました。
After that, the three members of The Knives were dropped off at a hotel near the airport to check in. Paul and Greg headed straight to return their rental car, as they were catching a 4:00 PM flight back to Brisbane. And so, we parted ways here—bidding each other a reluctant farewell with the words, “Let’s meet again.”
ホテルの部屋に入って小一時間は気を失うように寝たりしつつもニュージーランドのライブの準備もいろいろやって、午後７時にホテルの食堂へ行き、メンバー３人でプチ打ち上げをしました。ワインおいしい。その後部屋に戻ってブログの下書きをしたりして就寝。明日の朝は早いです。
After arriving at my hotel room, I fell into a deep, unconscious-like sleep for about an hour, then spent some time preparing for our upcoming live shows in New Zealand. At 7:00 PM, I headed to the hotel dining area, where the three of us—the band members—had a small, informal celebration. The wine was delicious. Later, I returned to my room, worked on a blog draft, and then went to bed. I have an early start tomorrow morning.
