7月27日（月）移動日　Boston MAからDurham NH

今日は短時間移動日。11時にホテルを出てまずボストンの日系スーパー、MARUICHIに寄り、レトルトカレーを買いました。

その後、韓国系スーパーのHマートへ行き私以外のみんなはそこでご飯を食べました。

Today was a day for a short trip. We left the hotel at 11:00 a.m. and first stopped by MARUICHI, a Japanese supermarket in Boston, to buy some retort-pouch curry. After that, we went to H Mart, a Korean supermarket, where everyone except me had lunch.

Hマートの中においしそうなベーカリーがありました。ケーキは1台日本円にすると9500円ぐらい…。

There was a nice bakery in the H mart. A whole cake cost around 9,500 yen…

変な日本語が書かれた箱に梨が入っていました。

There were pears inside a box with weird Japanese written on it.

珍しい魚がたくさん売られていました。鰹の顔が一番かっこよかったです。

There were many unusual fish for sale. The bonito’s face looked the coolest.

日本の食パンが売られていて、びっくりしました。

Japanese bread was sold. I was surprised.

その後、バーリントンモールに連れて行ってもらいました。モールの駐車場の植え込みに野生のうさぎが居ました。びっくり。After that, we were taken to Burlington Mall. There was a wild rabbit in the shrubbery in the mall’s parking lot. I was surprised.

モール内には、ユニクロ、セカンドストリート、アニメ系のお店もありました。

The mall also featured Uniqlo, 2nd STREET, and anime-related shops.

フードコートで一人中華を食べました。オレンジチキンと揚げ豆腐炒め。こちらは日本円で約2400円。

I had a Chinese meal by myself at the food court—orange chicken and a stir-fry with fried tofu. It cost about 2,400 yen.

その後、スーパーマーケットのTargetへ寄り、1時間車で走ってDurhamのホテルへチェックインしました。ホテルのコインランドリーで洗濯するため、フロントでお札を25セントコインに両替してもらいに行きました。たいていはフロントで両替してくれるけど、ここのホテルは両替するコインが無いから近所のガソリンスタンドで両替してもらうよう言われました。ちょっとひどいなぁ。洗濯ものをたくさん抱えてガソリンスタンド1軒目に行ったら一人2ドル分しか両替できないとのこと。2軒目に行ったら気軽に両替してくれました。もちろんどちらのお店でも買い物をしました。帰り道、すっぽんが歩いていました。

After that, I stopped at Target and then drove for an hour to check into my hotel in Durham. I went to the front desk to exchange bills for quarters so I could use the hotel’s coin-operated laundry. While front desks usually handle this kind of request, I was told that this hotel didn’t have any coins available and was directed to a nearby gas station instead which I thought was pretty poor service. I hauled a large load of laundry to the first gas station, only to be told they would only exchange enough bills for two dollars’ worth of quarters per person. At the second gas station, however, they were happy to make the exchange. Naturally, I made a purchase at both locations.

On the way back, soft-shelled turtle was walking.

洗濯機は3ドル、乾燥機も3ドル。25セントコイン（クォーター）が合計24枚も必要なのです。

洗濯機と乾燥機を回している間に部屋の電子レンジでスパゲティーを茹でてレトルトのたらこソースをからめ、たらこスパゲティを作って食べました。おいしい。Targetと同じ敷地にある酒屋さんであつこさんに買ってきてもらった赤ワインもいただきました。このワイン大変おいしいです。あつこさんと分け分けして飲みました。（全部は飲んでいないですが）

ブログを書いて就寝。

To use the washing machine costs $3, and the dryer also costs $3. You need a total of 24 quarters.

I made instant Trako Spaghetti, salted cod roe sauce spaghetti, using microwave in the hotel room. It was delicious. I also drank the red wine that Atsuko bought at the liquor store located in the same complex as Target. This wine is excellent. Atsuko and I shared it, not drunk all, though.

Wrote blog and went to bed.
