朝食会場で、ワッフルが4つ焼ける鉄板の１つ分だけに「たね」を流し込んで小さいワッフルを作って食べました。８時半出発。
I made a tiny waffle using one section of 4 waffle plate at the hotel diner. Left the hotel at 8:30am.

途中ガソリンスタンドで給油。
Refueled at a gas station along the way.

１３時４０分ごろ会場着。まずはケータリングへ。
Arrived at the venue around 13:40 and went to catering area first.

Men At Workのサウンドチェックが終わったあたりから強風を伴った激しい雨が降り出したので、機材にシートをかけてサウンドチェックはいったん中止に。
Just as Men At Work were finishing their soundcheck, heavy rain accompanied by strong winds began to fall, so the equipment was covered with sheets and the soundcheck was temporarily halted.

結局Toad The Wet Sprocketと私たちはサウンドチェックができませんでした。こんな中でもグッズコーナーは野外の簡易テントの下です。みよこさん奮闘の中、巨大な透明のビニールシートが支給されていたので、あつこさんが商品を覆う提案をし、実行されました。超巨大ビニールシートをカットしてテーブルの上の商品を覆いました。
Toad The Wet Sprocket and we couldn’t do soundcheck. Even under such a bad weather, our merch booth is in the simple tent. Miyoko was working hard and Atsuko helped to set up the merch. She offered an idea that cover our merch with a huge transparent vinyl sheet which was provided by the venue. Then we cut the sheet and covered our merch on the table.

さて、この一大イベントの移動方法について、書きたいと思います。Men At Workは、キッチン、リビング、トイレ、ベッドの付いたツアーバス２台で移動。Toad The Wet Sprocketは同種のバス１台で移動している模様。我々は11人乗りで、最後部シートを付けずに荷台にした、都合８人乗りのバンに６人乗って移動しています。ツアーバスの方は、だいたいライブ後にそのまま走って次の町へ移動します。ライブ中に運転手さんは近隣のホテルへ多分タクシーで行き、仮眠してライブ終了後戻ってきてまた夜走りというパターンです。時間に余裕のある日はみんなホテルで泊まっていると思います。
私たちが９０年代あたりにバスを使っていた時はそういうパターンでした。会場の楽屋には大概シャワーがあるので、そこでシャワーを浴びている人もおられます。機材車のトレーラーは機材撤収後夜走りしていると思います。
我々は自分たちの出番が終わったあと、サイン会をしてそれが終わるとバンでホテルに行き、翌朝移動します。運転はJamとAnthonyが交代で行います。

Now, I’d like to write about how the bands are traveling for this major event. Men At Work are getting around in two tour buses equipped with a kitchen, living area, restroom, and beds. It appears that Toad the Wet Sprocket is traveling in one bus of the same type.
We, 6 of us, are touring in a van which has 8 sheets and cargo space.
As for the tour bus, it usually heads straight to the next town right after the show. During the performance, the driver likely takes a taxi to a nearby hotel for a nap, then returns after the show to drive through the night. On days with a more relaxed schedule, I believe everyone stays at a hotel.
That was the routine back when we were touring by bus in the 90s. Since most venues have showers in the dressing rooms, some people would shower there. I believe the equipment trailer would hit the road overnight after the gear was packed up.
As for us, after our set, we hold an autograph session. Then once that’s done, we take a van to the hotel and travel to the next location the following morning. Jam and Anthony take turns driving.

楽屋でブログを書いたりしていたら夕食の時間になりました。夕食はこちら。
While I was writing my blog in the dressing room, it became time for dinner. Here is the meal.

ケーキもありました。食べなかったけど。
There was cake. I didn’t eat, though.

雷が鳴っていたら危険なのでライブはできなかったけど、無事、雨も止んで本番！サウンドチェックはできなかったけど、まったく問題なく、楽しくライブが出来ました。お客さんもたくさん来られて楽しんでいただけた様子でした。たくさんのご来場ありがとうございます！
We couldn’t perform at first due to the danger posed by the thunder, but the rain eventually stopped, and the show went on! Although we didn’t get to do a soundcheck, everything went perfectly, and we had a blast performing. A large crowd turned out, and it seemed like everyone really enjoyed themselves. Thank you all so much for coming!

A long queue was appeared after show at our autograph session. Thank you very much!

片づけてホテルにチェックインして就寝。
We loaded out, checked in the hotel and went to bed.

ところで、昨日書くのを忘れていたのですが、昨日の会場のケータリングでMen At WorkのColinさんに少年ナイフＴシャツとグリーティングカード（ほぼファンレター）を渡すことが出来ました。畏れ多くて緊張しましたが、とてもやさしく受け取っていただきこちらの大変うれしゅうございました。キャー。
By the way, I forgot to mention this yesterday, but I managed to hand a Shonen Knife T-shirt and a greeting card (which was basically a fan letter) to Colin from Men At Work at the venue’s catering area. I was nervous and felt a bit intimidated, but he accepted them so kindly that I was absolutely delighted. Yay!
