Live performance at the entrance ceremony of “i University”, Tokyo.
3月31日（水）お昼12時に家を出て、大阪から車で東京へ。
We depart Osaka at 12pm and drove to Tokyo on Wednesday, March 31st.
車中から大阪城が一瞬見えます。
We could see Osaka Castle a bit from our van.
お昼ご飯休憩は忍者の里、甲南パーキングエリアにて。
We took a rest at “Konan Parking Area” which is drivers’ cafe and rest area in Konan. They say there used to be Ninja around here.
サービスエリアの内装も忍者って感じ。
The interior was very “Ninja”!
そこで食べたのはきつねうどん。おいしかった！お出しは関西風です。
I ate “Kitsune Udon” which is seasoned deep fried Tofu on Udon noodles. It was tasty. Kansai style soup.
車窓からは山桜が満開でした。写真ではよくわからんけど。
I could see many wild cherry trees in the mountain. They are not so cleared on this photo, though.
次に休憩したのは長篠設楽原パーキングエリア。「ながしのしたらがはら」と読みます。長い名前やなぁ。ここには侍の兜があった！
We had the second rest at “Nagashinoshitaragahara Parking Area” drivers’ cafe. It is very long name! There was a Samurai helmet.
この先渋滞につき、足柄サービスエリアにて夕食はマクドナルドのチキンフィレオ。久々のマクド！
We got an information of traffic jam on the way to Tokyo and decided to take a rest at “Ashigara Service Area” drivers’ cafe. I ate Chicken sandwich at McDonald’s in the drivers’ cafe. First McDonald’s after a long time.
夜8時過ぎ、東京に着きました。車窓からの東京タワー。
We arrived to Tokyo around 8pm. Tokyo Tower from the van window.
そして、目的地の錦糸町に到着。こちらからは東京スカイツリーが見えます。
Then we arrived at the destination, Kinshi-cho. We could see Tokyo Sky Tree from here.
宿で夜食はコンビニのサラダ。写真ぼけちゃった。そして、ホテルのアメニティで付いていたバラの入浴剤を入れてお風呂に入って就寝。
I ate salad at my hotel room at night. This photo’s focus was bad. After that I took a bath with a bath bomb of rose scent and went to bed.

4月1日（木）iU入学式
Thursday, April 1st The entrance ceremony of iUniversity
朝ご飯はホテルの朝食会場にて。充実の朝ご飯。ごはんやお味噌汁もありました。パンも種類豊富。全部おいしかった！
I had hotel breakfast buffet. They served various food. There were steamed rice and miso soup, too. Many kinds of breads were there. Everything was so good.
宿の屋上から東京スカイツリーが見えます。
I saw Tokyo Sky Tree from the rooftop of the hotel.
朝9時、会場のすみだトリフォニーホールに入りました。新日本フィルハーモニー交響楽団の本拠地だそうです。スタッフは朝8時から準備開始。
We loaded in to the venue, Sumida Triphony Hall which is the home of New Japan Philharmonic orchestra. Our crew started to set up from 8am.
楽屋にはケータリングのお菓子が！和菓子屋さん「いちや」のどらやきは、偶然に学長のお名前と同じなのでご贔屓にされておられるとのこと。おいしくただきました。
Many sweets were catered at our dressing room. Japanese-style confectionery “Ichiya”‘s “Dorayai”, red bean cake, was served because Ichiya is also a name of university president coincidentally. It was tasty.

The person on the left is the university president Ichiya Nakamura.
サウンドチェック。我々のホームページを作成してもらっている、デザイン工房「虎の子屋」そして、バンドpapalionのけいじくんとみずきくんにセッティング等お手伝いを願いしました。写真の左に写っているのはみずきくん。いつもありがとう。
Soundcheck. Keiji and Mizuki helped to set up the stage. They own a design office “Toranoko-ya” which made our web site. They also form a band called papalion. Mizuki on the left of this photo. Thanks always.
家から持参のヤマハのアンプヘッドを使いました。
I used Yamaha amp head from my house.

音響は大輪さんにお願いしました。先月の配信ライブ「The Cyber Show」の配信音響も担当していただきました。先月の配信ライブ「The Cyber Show」は、敏腕、大輪さんのお陰で、配信音響が良かったとの声をたくさんいただいております。
The soundman was Mr. Owa who did our live streaming sound of The Cyber Show. Many people who watched our streaming said the sound was great.

12時になり、去年延期になった昨年の新入生の入学式が執り行われました。今年度から2年生になった学生さんたちです。iUは、去年に開学したので、1期生となります。入学式の最後に私たちが3曲演奏しました。衣装はしましま。
Entrance ceremony was started from 12pm. This is for students who entered last year because last year’s entrance ceremony was cancelled by COVID-19. They are 2nd grade now. i University was started from last year and they are the first students. At the last part of the ceremony, we played 3 songs. Stage costumes were “Stripes”.
演奏曲は、バナナチップス、Top of the World、そして私が作詞作曲のiUの校歌「Let’s go iU」です。
The set list was 1. Banana Chips 2. Top of the World 3. Let’s go iU
“Let’s go iU” is the school theme song for i University which I wrote music and lyrics.
「感染予防」のため声は出したらあかんので、学生さんたちは声を出さずに盛り上がって下さいました！ご協力ありがとうございました！
Students looked enjoy our stage. All people there had to be silent for prevent infection, though. Thank you for your cooperation.
第一部終了後、楽屋でお弁当を頂きました。おいしいお弁当を出していただきありがとうございます！
After we finished the first show, I had lunch in the dressing room. Thank you for serving delicious Bento lunch!
そして、第2部が2時半ごろスタート。今度は今年の新入生、つまり2期生の入学式です。衣装は「新モンドリアン」に着替えて、同じ曲を演奏しました。
Then the 2nd show started from around 2:30. This ceremony is for this year’s fresh students. We wore different costumes and played the same 3 songs.
墨田区民の方々も招待されています。
Some Sumida-ku area residents were invited to this ceremony.
新入生のみなさんに、校歌「Let’s go iU」でこぶしを挙げてもらうよう頼んで、みんなで盛り上がりました。
I asked to the fresh students to raise their hands at the school theme song “Let’s go iU!”. They did very well.
ベースなるちゃん、ドラムりさちゃん、そしてギターは私の布陣でした。すばらしい入学式にお招きいただき、大変ありがとうございました。
Bass – Naru, Drums – Risa and I played the guitar. Thank you all! Thank you for inviting us for the wonderful entrance ceremony.
楽屋から外へ行く通路に、クラシックから演歌まで幅広いアーティストのサインが展示してありました。
Many autographs of various musicians’ were decorated on the wall of the alley from the dressing room to outside.
演奏終了後、近辺を散策。錦糸町駅前広場には、ベーグルみたいなモニュメントがありました。おいしそうやな。
After show, I walk around the neighbors. In front of Kishicho Station, there was a monument which looks like a big bagel. It looked yummy.
東京スカイツリー！なんか宇宙船みたい。
Tokyo Sky Tree! It looks like space ship.
会場に戻り、車に荷物を積んで午後5時半に会場を出発。大阪へ向かいました。途中、駿河湾沼津サービスエリアにて、舞茸の天ぷらうどんを食べました。とってもおいしかった！おうどんがきしめんっぽい。けっこう大盛り。舞茸の天ぷら別盛りにしてもろたらよかった。
I went back to the venue and put our luggage to our van. Then we drove back to Osaka at 5:30pm. On the way, I ate deep fried Maitake Mushroom Udon noodles for dinner at “Surugawannumazu Service Area” driver’s cafe. It was very good. Udon noodles shaped like “Kishimen”, Fettuccine style Udon. The portion was big. I should have asked to serve the deep fried Maitake Mushroom on the side.
運転はマネージャーが一人で担当しているので、安全運転を心がけて休憩を取りつつ大阪へ戻りました。写真は岡崎サービスエリア。イラストレーターの内藤ルネさんの出身地なんだって。ルネさんの絵、大好き！
Our manager was the only driver and we were trying to take a rest on the way to Osaka for our safety. This photo was taken at “Okazaki Service Area” driver’s cafe. It says Okazaki is an illustrator “Rune Naito”‘s birthplace. I love Rune’s illustration a lot.
小学生の時、このパンダの文具持ってたなぁ。
そんなこんなで夜中2時ごろ帰宅しました。みなさんお疲れさまでした！やっぱりライブは楽し！
I used to have stationery of this Panda illustration when I was an elementary student.
Then I came home around 2am. Everyone did great job. Thank you! I really enjoyed because I live live shows.
