9月19日（金）Riot Fest シカゴ、ダグラスパーク
Friday, September 19th Riot Fest at Douglas Park, Chicago IL
朝6時20分にホテルを出て車で1時間ほどかけてRiot Festの会場Douglas Parkへ。セキュリティー担当の人がたくさん居ました。ステージの横に車を停めてメンバーとみよこさんはカートに乗せてもらい楽屋のコンテナへ。外は暑くて、コンテナ内はエアコンがガンガン効いていました。座っていたらクルーのRobがやってきて体調が悪いので明日からのツアーを離脱させてもらう、とのこと。寝耳に水とはこのことか！その後、みよこさんは各方面に連絡を取り、代わりの人探しをしてくれました。わたしも何やかや連絡ごとがあり、あっという間に時間が過ぎてラインチェックの時間となりました。Robは今日1日に関してはサウンドをするとのこと。
Departed the hotel at 6:20am, we drove an hour to Douglas Park where the Riot Fest is held. There were many security persons. We parked our van on the side of the stage and Miyoko and the members went to a container dressing room by cart. Inside of the dressing room, it was well airconditioned and a bit cold. Out side was very hot. When we were sitting, Rob came to the dressing room and said that he got illness and would like to retire the tour from tomorrow. We were so surprised and upset. Miyoko made contacts to many people and tried to find our new crew. I also had to write emails and time fried. Line check time had come. Rob said that he will do sound just for today.

ホテルの朝食会場に炊いたご飯があった！！！ので、おにぎりにして車中で食べました。

I made rice ball using hotel breakfast rice.

出番はイベント全体の1番目、お昼の12時から30分セットでした。最初の出番にもかかわらず、ほんとにたくさんのお客さんが見に来てくれました。ありがたい！
Our show time was the very first. Started from noon and played 30 minutes. It was early time but so many people came to see us. Thank you so much!

バックステージでは、昔ロラパルーザツアーで一緒にまわったShudder to ThinkのNathanが声をかけてくれたり、こちらのステージのトリのアル・ヤンコビック氏に会ったりできてうれしかったです。少年ナイフはアルさんのEat itをカバーしたことがあります。
Nathan from Shudder to Think who toured Lollapalooza together and did split single came to see us and we met Al Yankovic who is the headliner of this stage. I was happy to see them. Shonen Knife have ever covered Al Yankovic’s Eat it for his tribute album.

ライブ後はごはんのテントへ行き、チキンサンド、コッペパンに鶏の揚げたのが挟んであるもの、をいただきました。大変おいしかったです。急いで食べ終わり、次はインタビュー会場へ移動。
After show, we went to a catering tent and had fried Chicken sandwich. It was very tasty. I ate it quickly and moved to interview area.

そこで5件ぐらいインタビューを受けて最後は会場内の射的屋さんの前まで行き、写真撮影をしました。会場内を歩いていたらたくさんのお客さんに声をかけていただき、一緒に写真を撮ったりしました。
We had 4, 5 interviews. After that we had photo session in front of a shooting arcade. During walking on the way there, many people talked to us and took pictures.

車に戻ってRobとはここでお別れ。いや、ほんまびっくりした。お大事にとしか言えんが。ライブ終了後４時間かけてオハイオまでMaxの運転で移動してホテルにチェックイン。ケータリングのビールを部屋で頂き就寝。長い長い一日でした。
Went back to the van and we said good bye to Rob. He will take a flight from Chicago to Atlanta. I was so upset. I just could say take care to him. After show, Max drove the van 4 hours to Ohio. Checked in a hotel there and had beer from catering in the hotel room. It was a very long day.

オハイオに行く途中の車内でケータリングのチョコキャラメルリンゴ食べました。凶暴な甘さとりんごの酸っぱさのハーモニー。

いろいろあって、ほんまに疲れました！！！疲れた！

でも、ライブはたいへんたいへん楽しかったです！！！！！

I had Chocolate Caramel Apple, Affy Tapple, in a van on the way to Ohio. The harmony of extremely sweet chocolate caramel and sour apple.

I got sooooo tired today because of the accident of the crew retire.

But the show at Riot Fest was sooooooooo fun!
