今日の移動は優しい距離。うれしいです。朝食に小さめのワッフルを焼いて食べました。
The travel distance today is not so long. I was happy about that. I made a small waffle at the hotel breakfast.

10時半にホテルをチェックアウトし、12時過ぎに会場に到着。とてもいいお天気。ちょっと暑いです。
Checked out at 10am and arrived at the venue around noon. It was sunny. A bit warm.

ケータリングで昼食をいただきました。
We had lunch at the catering.

楽屋のトレーラーに入ってネットをつなぎ、2時からzoom インタビューをしました。
I did a zoom interview from 2pm after I got in the dressing room of trailer house and connected WiFi.

その後、サウンドチェック。鳥の鳴き声がどこかから聞こえるな、と思って見上げたら、会場のスピーカーの裏にツバメが巣を作っていました。
Then we had soundcheck. I heard birdsong from somewhere and looked up. There were swallow’s nests on the back of speakers at the venue.

こちらの前面のスピーカーと上の照明はMen At Workが持って回っている機材です。こんなに大掛かりな機材を運搬してツアーするなんて、すごい。ほんとにすごい。
These front speakers and the lights are the equipment are Men At Work brings along the tour. It’s amazing that they tour while hauling around such massive gear. Truly amazing.

機材はこんなトレーラーで運んでいます。日本のワンルームマンションが3軒分の大きさ？！
The equipment is transported in the trailer like this. It’s the size of three Japanese studio apartments!

客席は芝生で、お客さんが各自折り畳み椅子を持参して順番に並べていくというシステム。お客さんは車で来られるので、大きな折り畳み椅子を持ってこられます。日本じゃ考えられないです。
The seating area is a lawn, and the system involves audience members bringing their own folding chairs and lining them up one by one. Since people arrive by car, they bring along large folding chairs. Something you wouldn’t see in Japan.

会場内、フードトラックも出て楽しい感じ。
The atmosphere was peaceful with food trucks in the venue.

サウンドチェックのあと、夕食をもらいにケータリングへ行きました。
After soundcheck, I went to catering area to have dinner.

激甘のチョコレートケーキがありました。私には甘すぎてとうてい食べられません。
Very sweet chocolate cake was served. It was too sweet and I can’t eat.

さて、いざ本番。
Show time!

今日のライブはステージの真ん前に立ち見の場所があり、お客さんがめちゃ近い。
There was a standing area right in front of the stage today. Audience was so close.

その後ろが折り畳み椅子の列です。ライブはのどかな雰囲気の中、盛り上がって終了。
Behind that is a row of folding chairs. The concert ended on a high note, amidst a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere.

 

ライブ後、サイン会をして、その後、市長さんと一緒に写真をとりました。お褒めの言葉をいただき恐縮です。
After the live performance, Atsuko and I held an autograph session and then took a photo with the mayor. I am humbled to have received such words of praise.

ホテルにチェックインして就寝。
Checked in the hotel and went to bed.
