Welcome to Atsuko’s note 

おはようございます。今日は移動日、しかも3時間ほどの優しいドライブです。11時に出発して近くのモールに行きました。

Good morning. Today is an easy travel day—a drive of about three hours. We set off at 11:00 and headed to a nearby shopping mall.

 

モールの中の中華屋さんでランチをしました。

We had lunch at a Chinese restaurant in the mall.

ロサンゼルスでは見かけないお店があったので入ってみました。Tシャツ買っちゃったー！

I came across a shop I hadn’t seen in Los Angeles, so I decided to go in. I ended up buying a T-shirt.

ネブラスカクロッシングって言う屋外系ショッピングモールでしたー。

It was an outdoor shopping mall called Nebraska Crossing.

それから3時間ほど真っ直ぐな道を走って走って〜

Then, we drove straight along the road for about three hours—just driving on and on.

ホテルに到着。Toad The Wet Sprocket のツアーバスが停まってる！たまたま同じホテルでした。聞くところによると彼らは休みの日はホテルに泊まってそれ以外はバスで寝ているらしいです。(直接聞いていないので本当かどうかはわかりませんが) そう言えば少年ナイフが90年代にバスでツアーした時は3人でひと部屋とバスを交代で泊まってたと記憶しています。

晩ご飯は日本人チームでお寿司を食べました！

Arrived at the hotel. Toad the Wet Sprocket’s tour bus was parked there! It turns out we’re staying at the same hotel. I heard that on their days off they stay in hotels, but otherwise they sleep on the bus. (I haven’t heard it directly, so I don’t know if it’s true or not.) Come to think of it, I recall that when Shonen Knife toured by bus in the 90s, the three of us shared a room and took turns sleeping on the bus.

For dinner, Miyoko and members of Shonen Knife “the Japanese team” had sushi.
