8月9（日）移動日　オマハからカンザスのサリナへ。
Sunday, August 9 Travel Day from Omaha to Salina KS
朝起きて身支度を整え、10時半からホテルの部屋でビデオインタビューを受け、11時にチェックアウト。約３０分車で走ってNebraska Crossingというモールへ連れてもらいました。
Wake up in the morning and got ready, I had video interview in the hotel room form 10:30 and checked out 11am. Drove 30minutes and we were take to Nebraska Crossin shopping mall.

野外型モールで、敷地内で昼ご飯。
It is an outdoor mall. We had lunch there.

ここで注文。Order here.

注文するときに名前を聞かれるときはいつもNancyにしています。その方が簡単。すぐ綴りがわかってもらえるから。

When I order and asked my name, I answer Nancy. It is more easy for shop clerk to understand spelling.

ウォールナッツシュリンプにロー麺のセット。麺が大変塩辛く、食べられませんでした。

I had walnut shrimp and lo main. Lo main was so salty and I couldn’t eat.

お店の外にテーブルがあるタイプ。
There were tables outside of the kitchen counter.

モール内のウエスタンスタイルの服を売っているお店でお買い物しました。
I bought some clothes at a Western Style apparel store.

その後、車で３時間走りました。こちらは、途中のガソリンスタンドでの風景。アメリカだね。

We drove 3 more hours. This is the view from a gas stand on the way. Very American.

今夜の宿泊地近くのスーパー、Targetへ。ささっと買い物してホテルにチェックイン。あつこさんと私は徒歩で４分ほどのウォールマートへ行きました。外は摂氏４０度。溶けそうです。日本より湿気は少ないです。晴雨兼用の折りたたみ傘をさしていましたが、風が強くてひっくり返りそうでした。ウォールマートで３０分買い物して、それから、みよこさんとりさちゃんとウォールマートの向かいの中華系日本食レストランで待ち合わせて夕食をとりました。おいしかったです。いっぱい食べました。
We  dropped at Target which close to our hotel tonight. We bought something and checked in the hotel. Atsuko and I walked to Walmart by 4minutes walk. It was 104 Fahrenheit outside. I was almost melting. The humidity is less than in Japan. I was using a folding umbrella suitable for both sun and rain, but the wind was so strong that it nearly turned inside out. After shopping at Walmart for 30 minutes, we met up with Miyoko and Risa at a Chinese-Japanese restaurant across the street for dinner. The food was delicious, and I ate a lot.

私は餃子とサーモンの巻きずしも頼みました。写真撮り忘れ。りさちゃん注文の唐揚げとみよこさん注文のごま団子ももらいました。

I also ordered Gyoza and salmon sushi rolls though I forgot to take a picture. I also had some of the fried chicken Risa ordered and the sesame balls Miyoko ordered.

 

部屋に帰り、服をお風呂で洗濯しました。ここのホテルのランドリーの乾燥機が壊れているので。ほんと困る。バスタオルに絞った洗濯物をはさんで乾かして、洗濯ロープを張り服を干しました。のれんみたいです。ワインとビールをちょっと飲んで就寝。
After I came back to the hotel room, I washed my clothes in the bath tub since the guest laundry’s dryer is out of order. I squeezed the water out by wrapping the wet clothes in a bath towel, then strung up a clothesline to hang them; they looked like “Noren” curtains. After having a little wine and beer, I went to bed.
